Jean-Louis Courteau

I was a painter, and I still am. I say a painter, rather than «artist», for the same reason that I do not claim to make works, as it has become fashionable to call them, but simply paintings.
Because I think, as the old masters also thought, that painting is a profession, and that we never stop learning.
I also think that painting, like any form of art, is a way of looking at the world, more than the image seen. And that this look is never the same, that it changes with the days, moods, concerns...
