Armand Tatossian

Armand Tatossian was born on September 26, 1951 in Alexandria to Armenian parents
His grandfather was the curator of the National Museum of Alexandria, and therefore prompted him to start drawing. His grandfather also taught him painting
His family settled in Montreal in 1960. After his immigration, he dedicated himself to painting full time in 1965. He mainly painted in oils on canvas and was very fond of representing Quebec and Canadian landscapes in his works. However, he also does still life or abstract paintings from time to time. His first international exhibitions date back to 1968. He was also inspired by the Group of Seven.
In 1973, he was elected a fellow of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, becoming the academy's youngest elected member.

He died on August 23, 2012 at the age of 60
